Michael Novak
Michael Novak holds the George Frederick Jewett Chair in Religion and Public Policy at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C., where he is Director of Social and Political Studies. Mr. Novak has a M.A. in History and the Philosophy of Religion from Harvard University where he was formerly a Teaching Fellow. He is author of numerous articles on philosophy and culture published in a variety of journals including: The New Republic, Commentary, Harper’s, First Things, The Atlantic, The New York Times Magazine, and The National Review. He has written over 25 books including: The Spirit of Democratic Capitalism and Business as a Calling. Mr. Novak served as an advisor at the White House Office of Ethnic Affairs during the Ford and Carter administration. Mr. Novak has also served as a US Ambassador to the UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva from 1981-1982. He was also a member of the Presidential Task Force on Project Economic Justice in 1985. Mr. Novak now serves on editorial boards for numerous publications and organizations. He has received twenty-three Honorary Degrees and in 1994 received the Templeton Prize for Progress in Religion.
